01Who this notice covers

This notice explains the handling of personal data through this website and its public enquiry and recruitment channels for YT Associates (AF1112) and Peter Tang & Associates (AF1873), at the Kuala Lumpur address below. References to ‘we’ relate to the relevant firm handling your enquiry, application or correspondence. The firm responsible for any professional engagement will be identified in the engagement documentation.

This website notice does not replace engagement-specific confidentiality or data-processing arrangements. You can contact the shared public contact point below to ask which firm handles your information or to exercise your privacy choices.

02Information and its sources

You may provide your name, email address, telephone number, company name, service interest and message when making an enquiry. For recruitment, you may provide your CV, qualifications, employment history and other information you choose to include in an email. These details come directly from you or an authorised person communicating on your behalf.

Website hosting and security providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, which can include IP addresses, browser information, requested pages and request times. If you choose to load Google Maps, Google also receives information from your browser; see our Cookie Policy.

Please do not include identity-document numbers, bank or payroll records, health information, passwords or other sensitive or confidential material in an initial enquiry. Do not supply someone else’s personal data unless you are authorised to do so.

03How the enquiry form works

Selecting ‘Send enquiry’ sends the details you enter over an encrypted (https) connection to our website server, which emails them to info@yta.com.my. The website does not keep a separate database of enquiries; the message is held in our email system and handled as described in this notice. To limit spam, the server keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for up to one hour. If the message cannot be sent, the form offers an email draft instead, which reaches us only when you send it from your own email application. Career applications are made by email.

Name, email, service interest, message and the enquiry consent checkbox are required to send an enquiry; phone and company are optional. You can instead contact us directly. Without sufficient contact details or information, we may be unable to respond or assess a request. If you use an email draft or email us directly, your email provider handles the message under its own terms and privacy practices.

04Why information is used

Enquiry information is used to understand and respond to your request, arrange discussions, consider a proposed engagement and manage related correspondence. Application information is used to consider you for the opportunity you apply for and communicate about recruitment.

Technical information is used to deliver the website, troubleshoot issues and protect against misuse. Information may also be used where needed to meet applicable legal or professional obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

The enquiry checkbox relates to handling and contacting you about that enquiry. It does not subscribe you to marketing. Any additional use requiring a further notice or consent must be addressed separately.

05Recipients and overseas processing

Depending on your interaction, recipients can include personnel of the relevant firm handling the matter, our website and email hosting provider (currently Exabytes), other IT service providers, and professional advisers or public authorities where disclosure is necessary and lawful. An enquiry about one firm is not permission for unrestricted sharing between firms or with unrelated partners.

Email providers used by you or our correspondents and optional Google Maps services can process technical information or communications outside Malaysia. Cross-border disclosures of personal data must satisfy applicable Malaysian data-protection requirements. Contact us if you need more information about the providers involved in your enquiry or application.

This website does not include a sale of personal data, advertising trackers or a mailing-list subscription. Any proposed referral involving your personal details should be discussed with you before those details are passed to an external provider.

06Retention and security

Information should be kept only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was provided, taking account of applicable legal or professional record-keeping requirements and any ongoing dispute or claim. An enquiry or unsuccessful application is not permission to keep your information indefinitely for unrelated purposes. Contact us to ask about the retention period applicable to your matter or to request deletion where permitted.

Reasonable security measures are required for personal data, but email and internet communications cannot be guaranteed completely secure. Please ask us to agree an appropriate channel before sending sensitive documents.

07Your rights and choices

Subject to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, as amended, and applicable exceptions, you may request access to or correction of your personal data, withdraw consent for processing based on consent, object to direct marketing, and request data portability where the statutory requirements apply. You may also ask about deletion or retention restrictions; legal or professional obligations can limit what can be removed.

Send requests to info@yta.com.my with ‘Privacy’ in the subject. Specify the enquiry or application concerned and the request you wish to make. We may need proportionate verification of your identity before disclosing or changing records. Please do not email an identity-document copy unless a suitable verification method has been agreed.

Withdrawing consent can affect our ability to respond, consider an application or continue an interaction; it does not undo lawful processing already carried out. If a privacy concern is not resolved, you can contact Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Commissioner through the official JPDP website.

08Changes to this notice

Changes will be published here with an updated date. A material new purpose for processing is not authorised simply by changing this page; any further notice or consent required by law must still be provided. This notice is available in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
