Dato' Peter Tang has over 35 years of experience in accounting, corporate services, tax compliance and tax advisory services both in the United Kingdom and Malaysia. He has been the Executive Director of Taxand Malaysia since September 2006, and the Managing Partner of Peter Tang & Associates, an audit and accounting firm, since January 1992.

Between August 1989 and December 1990, Dato' Peter Tang was the Group Financial Controller of Baxter Healthcare SA, and previously a Senior Manager at Price Waterhouse between March 1983 to July 1989. He has also been a member of the Audit Committee of the Council of University Tunku Abdul Rahman since September 2011.

Dato' Peter Tang obtained his Master in Business Administration from the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a member of Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and a Fellow member of CPA Australia. He is also a Chartered Tax Advisor of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the United Kingdom and a Fellow member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.

He is an approved tax agent under Section 153(3) of the Malaysia Income Tax Act, an approved GST agent under Section 170 of the Malaysia GST Act, and an approved company auditor under Section 264 of the Companies Act, 2016 in Malaysia.

Dato' Peter Tang has also vast experience in performing share valuations, due diligence exercises, mergers and acquisitions as well as IPO advisory services both in Malaysia and overseas.

Yeo Eng Thong has more than 35 years of experience in the professional accounting practice. He qualified as a Malaysian CPA in 1981. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and a Fellow member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.

Prior to starting out his own practices, he was attached to PricewaterhouseCoopers in Malaysia and Singapore. His audit portfolio includes a wide range of enterprises and multinational corporations including retail, plantations, manufacturing and trading. He has experience with small and medium enterprises, advising them on corporate secretarial, finance and financial reporting matters.

His audit experience also includes non-profit organisations and trade associations. He is also an approved tax agent, company secretary and local director of a subsidiary of an MNC.

Yeo Eng Thong has also vast experience in performing share valuations, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions as well as initial public offering advisory exercises.

 

Saktei Leela
Assurance Director

Saktei Leela has more than 10 years of experience as an external auditor. She started her career in PricewaterhouseCoopers and later joined Ernst & Young in Year 2006. She held positions of up to a Senior Manager in the external audit division of Ernst & Young, Malaysia.

She is a member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants, a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) since 2006. She has provided audit services for numerous public listed entities, multinational corporations, government-linked and private limited companies, some of which were designated as key clients in Ernst & Young.

She also has a very good exposure in accounting, treasury and corporate finance functions when she joined commercial sector in 2012 as a Finance Director of a group of companies, subsidiaries of UEM Group. Her portfolio includes managing wide range of enterprises advising them on corporate finance and financial reporting matters for a specialised industry; concessionaire of design and build infrastructure company. She came back to audit profession after 5 years in the commercial sector.

Saktei was also involved in share valuations, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions as well as initial public offering exercises when she was in the commercial sector.

 

Lim Swee Loong

Lim Swee Loong has more than 10 years of experience as an external auditor. He started his career in a medium size audit firm as the external auditor. He held positions of up to a Senior in the firm.

He is a member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants, a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) since 2008. He has provided audit services for numerous multinational corporations, non-profit organisation and private limited companies, some of which were designated as key clients in YT Associates.

He has a very good exposure in managing the audit of different industries including investment holdings, property holding and development, construction, general trading and services, manufacturing concerns and so on. He was also involved in share valuations, financial due diligence, independent scrutineer services and other special audit engagement which were engaged by the firm.

 

Our Background

The history of the firm can be traced back to Peter Tang & Associates (PTA), a boutique firm providing accounting, specialized business and corporate finance and tax advisory services. It also specialized in providing services associated with the listing of companies on the then Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur stock Exchange.

PTA was set up together with Mr Yeo Eng Thong. Both Mr Yeo and Dato’ Peter Tang were previously with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and have more than 35 years of experience each in the profession.

Following the corporate restructuring of the PTA group and the subsequent listing of the PTA Group of companies on the Catalist Board of the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) under the name of Axcelasia Inc., the audit services of the PTA were taken over by YT Associates and managed by Mr Yeo Eng Thong and his team of qualified and experiencedprofessionals.

Presently, YTA has its head office in Wisma Goldhill, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur and another office at Wisma TJB, Johor Bahru, Johor.
